ROOMS RATES & BOOKING

Taigh Na Mara has two spacious and sunny rooms available to guests.  Both are able to sleep up to 3 people and can be adapted as required. The rooms each have their own bathroom, outdoor area, and private entrance from outside.  Other features include:

  • Tea and coffee making facilities
  • Small fridge
  • Beach towels
  • Bath robes
  • Heater/fan
  • Hair dryer.  A hair straightener is available on request.
  • Electric blankets
  • Good access for people with mobility issues and grab rails in the bathrooms (please let us know if you have any specific requirements)
  • Iron and ironing board available on request.
  • Free Wi-Fi internet
  • Guest rooms are non smoking

Children are welcome at Taigh Na Mara.  An extra bed is able to be placed in each room, or there is room for a portable cot.  Rooms are able to sleep a maximum of 3 people.  You are welcome to discuss your particular needs.  Please note, there is no fencing on the property.

The house and guest rooms are strictly non smoking.  Any guests who wish to smoke are requested to smoke in the garden, away from the house.


ROOM TWO -- Scallop Room

The Scallop room has a Queen size double bed. 
A comfortable fold up bed is also available, giving the option of two singles, or a double and a single.

Payment and Cancellation Information

  • For direct bookings wishing to make payment by credit card, please utilise the SMART reservation system by clicking on the Red button above. Your card will be charged a 10% non refundable deposit at the time you make your reservation to secure your booking.  The remainder of your payment will be required 14 days in advance of your stay. Bookings made within 14 days of arrival require full payment at the time of booking. No commission is charged.

  • For payment by direct credit (preferred method of payment for NZ visitors), please phone or email and account details will be forwarded to you. Deposit and payment as above.

  • Any other goods or services purchased during your stay (such as additional meals) can be paid by cash, direct credit, or by credit card on your departure.

  • Cancellation or no shows.  No refund will be given for cancellations made less than 14 days prior to the start date of your booking, or for no shows.  For cancellations only, should your room be rebooked for some or all of the booking you made, then consideration will be given to a refund for the days rebooked less any costs that may have been incurrred by the booking.  The method of payment for refund will be dependent on the method of booking used.  It is strongly recommended that travel insurance be purchased a the time of booking. 

 

ROOM ONE -- Paua Room

The Paua room has a Super King size double bed that can be split into two separate beds, offering the option of a double, or twin sleeping arrangement.  A comfortable fold up bed is also available, giving the option of three singles, or a double and a single.


RATES

Room rates are per night and per room.

Prices are in NZ Dollars.  No GST is charged.

High Season: 2 December 2018 to 30 April 2019

  • $199 for twin/double occupancy
  • $164 for single

Shoulder Season:  30 September 2018 to 1 December 2018

  • $179 for twin/double occupancy
  • $144 for single

Low Season:  6 June 2018 to 29 September 2018:

  • $159 for twin/double occupancy
  • $124 for single

Extra person (2 years and over) $35 per room.  Rooms have a maximum capacity of 3 people (including children).  No charge for a baby or infant (under 2 years) sharing a room and travelling with own portable cot . Where a cot is required for under 2 year old, an extra $10 per night will be charged.

Rates include breakfast (continental or cooked).

OPENING HOURS

Hours of availability (eg for phone calls, guest arrivals/departures) are generally from 8am to 8pm.  There can be some flexibility by arrangement.  

Check in:  You are welcome to arrive between 2pm and 6pm on the day of your booking. If you wish to arrive later than 6pm this is possible, however, please make contact ahead of time to ensure access.

Check out:  By 10.30 am please.

If you wish to arrive earlier,  or depart later, please discuss with Carol.  It may be possible, depending on other arrivals and departures.  Should room access not be possible until the designated time, you are welcome to leave any luggage and utilise the shared indoor/outdoor areas while you wait.
